the color blue and hope

2017-02-01

I photographed this family as they worked together on their Boxes of Hope and Boxes of Love for moms who have suffered pregnancy loss, infant loss, or are on bedrest fighting for their unborn babies’ lives - these are feelings this family knows all too well.  Their sweet twins, Grady and Ryder, would have been two this year.  While they worked, there were hugs, giggles, excitement, and sweet reminders to settle down from mom and dad when it got too rowdy.  Once they finished working, they got ready for their annual tradition of releasing 2 blue balloons in memory of the boys, and took a walk to a nearby park, balloons in tow.  It’s so encouraging to see a family take a deep loss and continue to find joy and hope in the small details of everyday life.
